Hammond Studio
If the design of one’s own home is a labour of love, then our new studio in Surry Hills has been our ultimate passion project. It is a true representation of our love for the practice of design, a beautiful space to experience and work in day-to-day.
The location was selected for its large south-facing windows which opens the space up to an abundance of soft sunlight – perfect for reviewing finishes for projects.
With particular emphasis on the quality of light, we have used indirect and tuneable white light technology to create variable temperature lighting the spans morning through to evening. In the hallway, a custom light fitting has been designed using external building cladding and suspended linear LED.
Guided by the existing tone of the heritage flooring, we have used American Walnut throughout for joinery and furniture. From custom workstations with a soft grey Fenix finish with walnut timber edging from Living Edge, to custom walnut timber door hardware by Tirar.
Technology is cleverly and unobtrusively embedded into the space with services like video conferencing facilities available via surface laptops, and mobile Microsoft Hub 2S from our friends at Peace of Mind Technology.
The true pleasure of our new studio space is in the special details – features that make it a joy to come to and experience. From the Opus Rosso Marble feature stone splashback and Maximum Argento porcelain benchtop by Artedomus, to treasured vintage pieces like our Marc Newson Orgone chair in eye-catching blue.
A perfect home away from home for our dedicated team, we are excited to welcome our clients and friends to Hammond Studio. Reach out to us to set up a meeting for the new year, and come to enjoy first-hand the architectural finesse of our new space.
